view all the tables (Figure 9.1)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make changes to them by inserting new rows and updating existing rows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run pre-defined queries recorded in the query table<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> This page assumes that you have read the pages <em>Getting started with Anchurus <\/em>II and<br><em>Using the Anchur<\/em>us II web The database tables you can access as a site editor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting started and the control screen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To access the tables recording a fieldwork site, you login and then select a site. For details of how to do this see the manual page: <em>Using the Anchurus II web application: the basics: a site viewer\u2019s view.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have logged in, you will be presented with the control screen (Figure 9.2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the control screen header (the green box), you are presented with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A \u201cSelect site\u201d dropdown which will give you a list of sites you can access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Site summary: with a list of tables each with their number of rows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your email address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your status as a user in this case <em>Site Editor<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the next line, there are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Help dropdown that takes you to the Anchurus web site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List dropdown: listing the names of tables that you can list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An Insert dropdown: listing the names of those tables where you can insert rows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A query dropdown: so you can run predefined queries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below the control screen header, the screen is divided in two parts. On the right hand side is the work area. The Anchurus II site editor\u2019s control screen you see after you have logged in<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Listing a table<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you select a table from the List dropdown, you create a new work area, with a work area header and a list of up to the first 10 rows of the table (Figure 9.3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From left to right, the icons in the work area header are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Select page icon : If you click on this you will select all the rows displayed before you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 icons which are presented when there are more than 10 rows in the table. They allow you to page back and forth through the table 10 rows at a time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A filter columns icon. It allows you to remove columns from the table display<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A refresh icon: which allows you to redisplay the contents of the table. A table list seen by a site editor from the context table<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selecting rows in a table<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each row in the table is preceded by a check box. If you click on a check box, you select the row and two new icons appear in the work area header. These are the View icon and the Update icon. An update work area for Context C01003<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inserting rows into tables<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You insert new rows into tables by clicking on the <em>Insert dropdown <\/em>and selecting a table where upon you are presented with an insert work area (see Figure 9.6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You select column entries and input your data. When you have completed your input, you need to scroll to the bottom of the form and click on the Submit button<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point, you may be asked to correct some of your input because it does not meet the column description or because it fails a referential integrity check (see <em>User manual page: the Database<\/em>).
